Sometimes I wish that we lived in a time without technology. I would much rather have a horse and buggy today. I am currently waiting for our mechanic to come and tow the van…again…

Since last Valentine’s Day we have replaced the:

  • engine
  • radiator
  • fuel pump
  • brakes
  • battery
  • starter
  • rear end
  • front end
  • tires
  • and we’ve had it aligned

I’m pretty sure I’m missing a few things, that list is WAY to short. As you can see we have been forced into slowly rebuilding our van to create an entirely NEW van that we couldn’t afford in the first place. I currently am unable to drive the van because it is idling way to high, revving itself up (won’t kick down) and refuses to stop moving once in drive. No amount of pumping the brakes, coasting or using the emergency brake will stop this massive machine turned figure skater. I had to coast it into a snow pile in the school parking lot to avoid hitting people. I’m at a lost of words for that machine right now.

We’ve also been battling our appliances this year. So far to date, we have had to replace/repair or lost the following:

  • hand blender
  • blender
  • two crockpots
  • roaster oven
  • food processor
  • toaster
  • washer
  • dryer
  • refrigerator
  • dish washer
  • standing freezer

How do you keep a positive outlook when you feel like you’re in the middle of the movie “Rise of the Machines”?
